Lucie Rivel was born in Metz, France in 1910. She studied at the Académie Julian in Paris in the workshops of Jérome, Planson, Schurr from 1937 to 1946. She regularly participated in various Salons including those of Salon des Autumn, the National Salon of Fine Arts. From 1958, she exhibited in Paris, Berlin, New York, Geneve.
She listed in Benizet and with the Taylor Institute – an association of painters, sculptors, architects, and writers established in 1884, and to this day one of the most important institutions involved with the defense of artists, founded by a bequest from Baron Taylor in 1844.
