Victor Leskin
(1914 - 1998)

The art of Viktor Leškin (1914-1996) reflects the twists and turns of Estonian history: a young man from a small Seto-Russian village, studying painting in Tallinn during the Republic of Estonia; In addition, Viktor Leškin painted most of the large-scale scene landscapes of everyday life, making it possible, for example, to see the restoration works in Tallinn after World War II or the historical study building of ERKI (now EAA). His art gives a good overview of Estonian art life over the decades.Being a lecturer at the ERKI for 38 years, several generations of Estonian artists have been raised.
