Kroshkin frequently transforms scenes of everyday life into theatrical narratives populated by exaggerated characters \u2014 dancers, couples and social figures whose gestures convey humour, intimacy and sometimes subtle irony.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1558\">Rather than pursuing conventional realism, Kroshkin reduces the human body to a vocabulary of geometric forms. Strong outlines, flattened perspective and decorative pattern bring his compositions close to the visual language of <strong data-start=\"1393\" data-end=\"1423\">Pop Art and graphic design<\/strong>, while their humour and narrative quality remain rooted in the particular cultural atmosphere of Eastern European figurative painting.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1560\" data-end=\"1891\">In <strong data-start=\"1563\" data-end=\"1588\"><em data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1579\">Dancing Time<\/em> (2001)<\/strong> these qualities are especially apparent. The dancing couple, oversized hands, patterned stockings and bottle become part of a tightly constructed visual rhythm.
