Maurice Henri Mazeilie (French 1924-2021).
Born in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine, Paris in early 1924, Mazeilie painted prolifically covering landscapes, coastal scenes in Brittany where he had a studio, Parisian landscapes and architecture, and portraits. He left for the United States in 1957, returned briefly to France for a few months in 1958, then returned in early 1959 to settle in San Diego, California, where he applied for naturalization and became a long-time figure in the center of artists of Spanish Village in San Diego between approximately 1967 and 1974. He was married in San Diego in 1964 to a 27-year-old woman, when he was 40 at the time. At the end of the 1970s, he returned to France and continued to paint and draw until 2019. His soft and impressionistic style made his work very easy to live with.
