Oleg Kroshkin

Born in 1950 (village Sokol-Dolinsky) Russia. He graduated from the art and graphic department of the Vitebsk State Art Institute (1972). He regularly exhibited since 1971.

Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. From 1991 members of the Belarusian Union of Artists. The works are characterized by appeal to the style of pop art and urban folklore, bright colors, the use of a collage, the ironic nature of images. In his works he relies on the postmodern type of thinking – anti-traditionalism, quoting, the use of various artistic languages and expressive means.

Mixed techniques are inherent in his work: often use collage. Favorite material is acrylic, considers it as plastic as possible. Artworks of O. Kroshkin, like all his work, has a game essence.

His characters are still playing giveaways with the audience, shocking him with provocative eroticism and anti-aesthetics of the plot. The artist himself demonstrates complete freedom from hypocritical prohibitions and the high artistry of owning a brush and paint. Sometimes, showing solidarity with his heroes, he embodies himself on the canvas.

Oleg Kroshkin,
