Roland Chanco

Roland Chanco (1914–2017) was a French painter known for his distinctive figurative language, expressive colour and highly individual approach to the human form.

Born in Reignac, France, Chanco moved to Paris in the 1930s, where he encountered leading artists of the period and developed his own visual vocabulary. His work evolved through several stylistic periods, combining bold forms, vivid colour and an increasingly sculptural treatment of the figure.
