Rein Kelpman
(1960)

Rein Kelpman (b. 1960) is a self-taught painter who, after graduating from high school (1979), worked as an artist in an advertising agency until 1987. In 1986, Kelpman’s work was exhibited for the first time in the gallery of the Tallinn Art Hall, and in the same year he became a member of the Estonian Artists’ Union. In 1993, Kelpman won the annual award of the Estonian Cultural Foundation and in 1995 the annual award of the Estonian Cultural Endowment. Rein Kelpman’s cubist paintings with soft lines are dreamy, enigmatic and always seem to tell their story.
